Christi and Jeff Boyd

Vigil

Jeff Boyd is the PC(USA) liaison for Central Africa. In this role, he facilitates relationships with partner churches and institutions in Cameroon, Congo, and Equatorial Guinea. He also provides support for mission personnel and is a resource for U.S. congregations who are in a relationship with one of our partners in the region.

Christi Boyd is the companionship facilitator for the Presbyterian Hunger Program’s Joining Hands initiative in Cameroon. Working with Cameroonian mainstream churches, non-profit organizations, and grassroots groups, she has facilitated the establishment of the national network and the development of its programs. These include cooperative grain banks in northern Cameroon, a microfinance program, and an anti-corruption program focusing on revenue management in oil, gas, and mining projects.

Update on Jeff and Christi Boyd’s visit

Dear Friends in Monmouth Presbytery,

Mid-summer greetings!

If you’ve been on a mission trip, you already know what a life-changing experience it can be to come away with a renewed sense of your place in the body of Christ and an awareness of how what’s happening in the rest of the world impacts you – and vice versa. Not everyone can go on a world mission trip, but all of us are invited to be part of the next best thing this month!

The world will be coming to Monmouth Presbytery when Christi and Jeff Boyd, mission co-workers from Cameroon, visit in August. My church, Church on the Hill in Ocean, has a long-standing relationship with the Boyds; and First Presbyterian Church in Rumson recently established a new relationship with Christi. After hearing that the Boyds would be here on two consecutive Sundays, the Mission Council of the Presbytery decided to invite them for the entire week. You are invited to share in the ministry of Jeff and Christi in worship, over food, in the garden, and more.

Please look over the schedule and make it a point of coming to at least one worship service or gathering. I especially hope you will come and have dinner with us and the Boyds at Church on the Hill on Wednesday, August 18 – supper and sharing are free, but please let us know you’re coming and how many you’re bringing!
