As the oil spill continues in the Gulf of Mexico and our prayers are with all those affected by the spill, Bruce Reyes-Chow, PC(USA) Moderator; Gradye Parsons, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly; and Linda Bryant Valentine, Executive Director of the General Assembly Mission Council have published a pastoral letter to those affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster.

Read the letter on the Office of the General Assembly website.

We have no new stories this week!

Well, that’s not exactly true – there must be new stories but they haven’t reached the newsletter (probably holiday traffic). Please send yours in and we will share!

Visit the Mission Cafe to read "oldies but goodies" and watch for new ones, posted as they come in.

In the meantime, this is a good week for visiting and feasting on the miracle of fresh, locally grown strawberries – Bordentown has a Strawberry Festival on Friday and Cranbury on Saturday!

Food for Thought: In our small "Money and Faith" group that has been meeting at the Presbytery center, this week we discussed Jubilee, and the topic of Sabbath-keeping also came up. So when I saw this article "Keep a Sabbath" in an e-mail from the Presbyterian Leader, it seemed like the message was for me – maybe it will speak to you, too.
